The Kickouts were started as a result of a very boring Saturday. On this day, Jordan decided he wanted to finally start the "salsa/funk" band he was always talking about. Brad then took Jordan out to buy the bongos while Dave tried to write music for the new band. After many failed attempts to write salsa/funk music, Dave began to play in a style now known as "mexicore". Brad's trumpet just happened to be at Dave's house that day so he began to practice it while Dave and Jordan worked on some songs. Matt, having no other musical ability, found some maracas and started to shake. Dave's mom came in and told us we weren't that bad, so we got the confidence to actually be a band. Maunee was added to the band a few days later with Dave's encouragement and Jeff's ouira skills made him a member in June, 2000, forming the current line up of the Kickouts. The shows began soon after, along with the hassles and confusion of stardom (well, not yet). Anyway, the Kickouts have been annoying people and getting yelled at since January, 2000.
